Your Mission:

Analyze applicant accounts to understand the law practice and how the firm earns fees. Combine your analysis with initial underwriting summary and analytics to model right-size and best terms for financing to help client achieve business goals with specific focus on reducing risk to the company and best outcomes for the client.


Your Day to Day:

• Underwrite small law firm loans and lines
• Gather information, review and verify application documents and packages
• Research and examine credit risk as it relates to law firm operations and the firm’s portfolio of fee sources
• Maintain complete knowledge of underwriting guidelines
• Analyze applicant’s portfolio information with specific focus on the firm’s fee structure, practice areas and case or matter information, verify all required documents
• Communicate with applicant verify valuations and timelines as it relates to portfolio matters and anticipated legal fees
• Work with financial underwriter as needed to refine overall underwriting decision
• Following underwriting guidelines, identify irregularities or potential issues based on initial financial analysis and portfolio value
• Write and/or present underwriting summaries to credit committee
• Combining client goals and our data prepare and present proposed funding structure to potential client
• Structure commercial loan transactions and prepare term sheets
• Complete and deliver work product with high degree of customer service


You:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to efficiently synthesize data from multiple sources
• Detail oriented with strength in prioritizing multiple competing tasks
• A background in law, either working in litigation as an attorney or paralegal or experience as an insurance underwriter
• Ability to adhere to standardized guidelines
• Strong computer skills and experience with Salesforce/Force.com or CRM platforms
• Ability to interact fluidly between sales, customer service, finance and compliance teams
